Kelly Sport Fun Day

On Tuesday, Bart from Kelly Sport, came and did a fun day with the school. We had lots of fun playing different games/ activities. Room 17 really enjoyed Shipwreck and Shark attack. 

It was great to see them working as a team!

Ōwairaka Horrors - the final chapter

Today, the Theatre Group performed a play about the Ōwairaka Horrors. A group of students of all ages practiced during their break times to produce a play that WOWed the entire school. A group of Year 5 and 6 students worked tirelessly to write the script too.

There was a kraken and a pencil. The pencil was magic, and whenever you drew anything on the page, it came to life!  

An outstanding performance, Theatre Group!

Cultural Festival 2022

As the rain disappeared and the sun finally peeked through the lightening clouds, the Festival was in full swing. Children, parents, laughter and smiles were all around us, as everyone prepared to take the stage.  

Many groups from schools across Auckland Central came to participate in the festival at Rocket Park. Colours filled the crowd as groups prepared to get ready in their costumes. Once ready, nervous butterflies filled their tummies as they waited patiently behind the stage for their turn to take the stage. 

Owairaka had 9 groups participate at the festival. What a presence we had there. Here are some snaps of our day! 

The One and Only Ivan Ponder 5

 

I think Ivan wants to help Ruby because he knows what it feels like to be stuck in captivity for years on end. Ruby is just a baby and needs to be where you is most comfortable, and be free in the wild. 

I think the best place for Ruby is in the wild. Maybe they could find herd of elephants to adopt her into their family. They can protect her and give her everything she would need.
